Fortunately, even in Marvel’s tight-lipped world, one thing we know for sure is the release date of Thor: Love and Thunder. The latest Thor picture, which was unveiled in May as part of a special “Marvel Celebrates the Movies” video, will hit theatres on May 6, 2022. Even though it’s less than a year away, the wait can be agonising; you could find solace in viewing Ragnarok for the 50th time.
Thor: Love And Thunder Is Currently In Production.
Filming began in Australia in January 2021 and ended on June 1st, according to Hemsworth’s Instagram, which featured an instantly famous portrait of the Thor star alongside Waititi, who also plays the charming, laid-back Korg. Thor is wearing a tank top, trousers, and some pretty ripped arms in the shot. Of course, the God of Thunder was always muscular, but wow.
Hemsworth teased a “crazy off the wall humorous” film that “could perhaps pull a heartstring or two” in the post. Waititi also hinted at an exciting journey in his own post, noting that Love and Thunder is “the wildest thing I’ve ever done.” Hemsworth was also photographed in a ’80s-style exercise outfit, replete with sweatbands, according to the Daily Mail.
Thor: The God Of Thunder And Love Plot
Thor had appointed Valkyrie as the King of New Asgard before departing to join the Guardians of the Galaxy when fans last saw him in Avengers: Endgame.
The gang of heroes would feature in the next Thor picture, according to a tweet from Guardians writer and director James Gunn, and set photographs released by the Daily Mail further verified the crossover. As a result, Love and Thunder could happen when Thor returns to Earth after his intergalactic adventures.
For the time being, all we know about Love and Thunder’s premise is that Waititi was inspired by Jason Aaron’s The Mighty Thor comics arc, which spanned from 2015 to 2018. At the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, he said, “It’s incredible and full of emotion, love, and thunder.” “It also features a female Thor for the first time.”
Cast Of Thor: Love & Thunder
Speaking of “female Thor,” Natalie Portman, who played scientist Jane Foster in the original two Thor films, will reprise her role in Love and Thunder, taking on a new era for her character.
In addition to Hemsworth, Thompson, Portman, and Waititi, Christian Bale will play Gorr the God Butcher, while Jaimie Alexander will play Lady Sif in Love and Thunder.
According to set photographs published by the Daily Mail, the cast will include at least a couple of the Guardians, including Chris Pratt as Peter Quill and Karen Gillan as Nebula. Following in the footsteps of the critically acclaimed Ragnarok, a number of famous cameos have been announced, but let’s not give too much away before the premiere.
The most notable absence from the cast is Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki. He gave his life in the Asgardians’ battle with Thanos in Infinity War, and despite Loki’s predilection for feigning death, this one appeared very genuine.
The character’s self-titled Disney+ series (which is a pre-redemption Loki from a separate universe) nevertheless has enough Loki. However, unless Loki’s time travel misadventures allow him to return to New Asgard and rejoin the main events, it appears that this will be the first Thor film without him.
Trailer For Thor : Love And Thunder
Thor: Love and Thunder does not yet have a trailer available. Because the fourth Thor film comes after a slew of other highly anticipated MCU films, including Spider-Man: Homecoming and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the studio will most likely give those films a chance to shine before revealing the first official footage of Thor and his pals.
