In the final of Love Island on Monday (August 23), Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran didn’t walk away with the £50K prize money. However, the couple appears to be still enjoying their honeymoon period after leaving Love Island.

After Chloe mentioned marriage on the show, the couple explored whether they had any plans to get married during their exit interview. After Chloe told Toby that she was hoping for a proposal “imminently,” Toby said, “You’re going to propose.”

Chloe’s response, “I would never!” made things even more unpleasant. He added: “If she wants to ask the question, she’ll have to ask it and see if she gets the appropriate response or not.”

When asked about his plans for the future, Toby replied that he “absolutely” wants to get married, while Chloe said she wanted a “flamboyant” proposal.

When Toby proposed leaving the villa as boyfriend and girlfriend, Chloe spoke about how she felt. “Because I didn’t see it coming, and it was one of the nicest speeches I’ve ever heard. It was her favourite moment.”

In response to his statement, I exclaimed: “Oh my goodness!” Honestly, I didn’t think he’d go through with the plan. We hadn’t talked about it before now. It may have come to your attention that we aren’t particularly excellent in serious chat scenarios.”

He continued: “I had been thinking about it for a while.” For the sake of time! Why didn’t I do it sooner or later? Everything. It occurred to me that I was thinking about the final date and then thought, “Hmm, nah.”

“Oh, if anyone else becomes boyfriend and girlfriend, it’s copying,” Chloe said after Faye and Teddy made their relationship official on their final date.

Then, Toby said: “So, I was out of luck now! As a result, when the next opportunity arose, I decided to end it with a love proclamation.”

Liam Reardon and Millie Court defeated Chloe and Toby in the final, winning 42.02 per cent of the final vote. So it was almost a proposal when host Laura Whitmore inquired about whether or not the ‘all-important question’ will be answered during the live finale.

Liam was about to ask Millie to be his girlfriend when he was interrupted. It airs on ITV2 and can be watched on ITV Hub. BritBox customers can watch episodes the next morning.
