Ranging from our childhood from that of the Millennials to Zoomers to Generation Alpha, the series of Transformers have definitely won the hearts of millions. The series based on the Transformers franchise commenced in the 1980s. The first five films: Transformers (2007), Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Dark of the Moon (2011), Age of Extinction (2014), and The Last Knight (2017) were all directed by the au fait Michael Bay.
The offshoot movie, Bumblebee was produced by Michael Bay, directed by Travis Knight was released on December 21, 2018. The movies based on the toy series was distributed by Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures.
Release Date
Bumblebee and The Last Knight failed to match the scores of the top performances. Thus the next productions are taking a bit more time to decide on which one to get on the floors. In January 2020, it was announced that two movies are in the process of development as a series to follow Bumblebee and an adaptation of Transformers: Beast Wars. The creator of Bumblebee is Joby Harold while that of Beast Wars is James Vanderbilt.
In the pretext of the COVID 19 pandemic attacks where all the productions are stalled and deferred to a later date of release, Paramount Picture had to come up with a date of release. And according to the sources, Paramount has opted for a release date of June 24, 2022, for the next appendage of the Transformers franchise. It seems that Paramount has secured the date for whichever movie they want to pursue. Nothing more has been revealed until now.
The Storyline
Though unsure of which movie it would be both of them have a trail to follow. The ending of the Bumblebee has made it very clear if at all a sequel is made, where it would head towards. On the planet of Cybertron, Optimus Prime is returning and more Autoboots on the way.
While the Beast War can bring in the nostalgia that Michael Bay’s movies had installed in us. For those adults who grew up in the 1990s, it was a battle between Maximals and Predacons and not the Decepticons and Autoboots. Now it seems that it is time to move on from the comic series and toyline for the new generation.
Cast
Over 214 characters have appeared in the franchise movies. The entire team of Autobots featuring Optimus Prime, Sentinel Prime, Bumblebee, Jazz, Ironhide, Ratchet, Sideswipe, Jolt, and many others.
While in the troupe of Decepticons there are: The Fallen, Megatron, Starscream, Blackout, Barricade. And some Humans too. Samuel James “Sam” Witwicky played by Shia LaBeouf, William “Will Bill” Lennox by Josh Duhamel, Mikaela Banes by Megan Fox, Carly Spencer by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Robert Epps by Tyrese Gibson and others.
