Travis Scott was last musically active when he released his single The Plan as a soundtrack for Christopher Nolan’s John David-Robert Pattinson starring, TENET. The theme song released on August 20, 2020, and was described as “the final piece of a yearlong puzzle” by the director, Nolan. The song also marked as the first original written for a film and debuted at Number 43 on Rolling Stone’s Top 100 Songs chart.
New single, Franchise:
A month after the release of his last single, the American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer is returning with his new single. Scott released his new single titled Franchise, which also features M.I.A. and Young Thug.
The video of the single stands at 3 minutes, 55 seconds and sees the rapper co-direct it along with White Trash Tyler and produced by Chase B. Of the many locations, the single was partially filmed at Michael Jordan’s mansion in Chicago as one sees Scott pulling up to the gates with Jordan’s number 23 designed out in the gate.

The visuals range from multiple luxury cars to Scott surrounded by women in a pool to partying in the mansion to playing gold and poker with Young Thug to multiple Travis Scotts in one frame to M.I.A. at a field surrounded by sheep and mirrors.
Scott shot his new single on film and premiered his new song in IMAX theatres that are premiering Tenet. Showering his love the Inception director wrote to the singer-songwriter that he can’t wait to see the “Travis/Tenet/Travis sandwich”. Film promotion whilst showing support? Not a bad move.

Collaborating with M.I.A:
In an interview, Scott talked about his experience working with the British rapper, singer and songwriter, saying that she is “one of my favorite artists as humans”. He also revealed that M.I.A. initially reached out to him for her album.
Later, when Scott finished the song, the only person he said he could think of who would embody the song right from the energy to the music to the beats to the raps, it was M.I.A.

Earlier activities:
The American rapper’s last release featuring an artist was The Scotts which released in April and featured Kid Cudi. He also appeared as a featuring artist on Wash Us in the Blood by Kanye West and TKN by Rosalia.
