Since the end of Season-2 of Virgin River, fans have been asking one question: Who shot Jack?
And since the cliffhanger finale, the fans have been expecting that this question would be answered in the next season, which is now streaming on the most popular streamer, Netflix.
The show is running on the streamer for quite some time now as it hit the screens on July 9 and still there is no luck regarding the answer to the aforementioned question due to the hazy memory of Jack. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Martin Henderson aka Jack laughed and said,’
The fact that I know makes me feel like the audience is going to find out.” But, why does he know? It’s not purely for acting reasons. Showrunner Sue Tenney considered making the big reveal this season as the actor added, “They toyed with the idea of revealing [it] in season three.”
“There were drafts where we were going to actually get a little more information, and you would find more out. But for a bunch of reasons, they decided to extend that. So that can be dragged out a little bit,” he continued and revealed.
In the last episode of Season-3, a former US marine who is like Jack, Dan Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth) was arrested on suspicion of shooting Jack; although it is pretty clear that he is not the main culprit. However, Henderson promised fans that their wait will be worth it and it will soon be revealed as to who is the main culprit. The show has every intention of resolving that storyline at some point in the near future.
The actor explained to the fans, “It would be unfair to the audience to not have that result. That would feel a little tacky to string them along and then keep it a mystery. It’ll be nice to see [him] heal going forward.”
He went on to tease that, “there’s always the threat of [pot farmer] Calvin” as he “has influence” over the town.
At last, he added, “”Whether it was Calvin or someone else in Calvin’s camp, because it remains a mystery, we’re not really going to know how safe Jack is and what the motive really was.”
