The show is based on a series of comic books called Warrior Nun Areala and is created by Ben Dunn. The show follows an orphan who wakes up in a morgue with a divine artifact embedded in her back. She discovers that she is a member of a secret organization also called the order of warrior nuns who fight demons on earth. Warrior Nun was originally developed as a feature film adaptation but was later converted into a series after Netflix gave the order for the 1st season of the show. The show was recently premiered on Netflix on July 2, 2020, and has received and a lot of positive feedback. So will Netflix renew the show for another season?
Will Season 2 Happen And Expected Release Date
The show has only been out for a couple of weeks and it usually takes some time to Netflix to review the performance and renew a show so right now no official announcement about season 2 has been made. The fans don’t have to worry though since the release the show has been in the daily top 10 list and with the positive reviews from both critics and fans the chances for the 2nd season are high.
If the show is renewed and starts shooting around the end of this year we can expect the 2nd season to arrive sometime in the fall of 2021 but since there hasn’t been any confirmation right now we can’t be sure. We will let you know about the official announcement and the release date as soon as we know about it.
Cast
We didn’t see any major character’s death in the 1st season so we can expect most if not all the season 1 main cast to return. We will be seeing Alba Baptista as Ava Silva in the lead role along with her fellow Warrior Nuns from the Vatican’s secret Order of the Cruciform Sword like Toya Turner as Sister Mary / Shotgun Mary, Lorena Andrea as Sister Lilith, and Kristina Tonteri–Young as Sister Beatrice. We will also see Tristan Ulloa as Father Vincent, William Miller as Adriel and Peter de Jersey as Kristian Schaefer along with some others.
Expected Storyline And Other Updates
The 1st season ended on a cliffhanger as we saw warrior nuns of Order of the Cruciform Sword distract Adriel to buy time for Ava to recharge her halo to manifest the Divinium Sword however Adriel summons demons who take control of the bystanders and the battle continues but don’t see anything else. So we expect the 2nd season will pick up from the battle scene and we will see what happens next in the battle. Also, there are many arcs left to explore from the comic books so we can see any of those story arcs in the next season as well.
