Sue Tenney laid down the big twist and foreshadowed what was going to happen in season 4. On Friday (9 July), the drama of Netflix dropped its much anticipated third season, with many revolutions.

In addition to having Melinda Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), the season finished with the news that Mel was pregnant – however, she doesn’t know whether the baby is Mark’s late husband or Jack’s (Daniel Gillies).

Asked about Mel’s baby’s paternity, Tenney stated: “By the conclusion of the fourth season, you’ll find out.” As for Mel’s reply to Jack’s proposal, Alexandra Breckenridge added, ‘I’d say yes to my initial reply.’ However, she suggested that Mel could also have some reservations, stating, ‘I mean, just a few weeks ago, he broke with her!’

Meanwhile, the finale also reported that Charmaine will strive to secure the exclusive custody of the twins and that Tenney told viewers that they might expect much court drama next season.

“I have Charmaine’s sympathy,” she said. “His acts, I’m not condoning. It’s a small scam. It’s a little babbling. But she is not bad. But she’s not bad. It is only hurt. She’s hurt. All Charmaine’s doing is out of harm. She works from a hurt place every time.”

Jack should be ready to fight for his children, but Tenney indicated that the story would also be of great importance to Brie (Zibby Allen). “We are going to take advantage of the fact that Brie is a lawyer in the programme,” she said.

Netflix streams from Seasons 1, 2 and 3 of the Virgin River.
