The third season of You will premiere on Netflix on October 15th, 2021, and if you want to know everything about it before then, here’s a look at the release date, trailers, and everything else that’s been revealed thus far.
Netflix renewed the popular psychological crime drama You for a third season less than a month after the debut of season 2 on the streaming service. The fact that over 54 million people watched the second season shouldn’t be a big surprise. After a brief run on Lifetime, the show was picked up by Netflix and has since flourished.
In the second season, Joe’s home base shifted from New York City to the Californian Riviera. After rebranding himself as ‘Will,’ his new inspiration, Love Quinn, showed up without any delay. People continued to perish around Joe despite his best efforts to stop his heinous ways. Netflix has promised to deliver on its promise to leave viewers wanting more after the series’ dramatic conclusion.
When will You Season 3 release?
There is a third season of You coming to Netflix on October 15, 2021, according to the service. It was revealed that Season 3 would begin airing in 2021 after the program was renewed by Netflix on January 14th of that year. However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, most film and television projects were halted, resulting in the cancellation of You season 3.
Season 3 filming was scheduled to begin in November 2020, however, it was delayed owing to a COVID-19 outbreak during production. In February 2021, production began again, and it was completed in April of that year.
Episodes length, no of episodes, and more
The number of episodes in season three will be the same as in seasons one and two: 10. The episodes are planned to last 45 minutes each.
Who will be casting for You Season 3?
Other than the two cast members we currently know will remain for Season 3 (Penn Badgley and Victoria Pedretti, who played Joe’s love interest in Season 2), a few new faces will be joining the cast. Let’s begin with someone you already know. Love and Joe, as we saw in the last episodes of season 2, are ready to start over in a new city, house, and have their first child together. However, even if we’re certain that these two aren’t cut out to be parents, we can be assured that Dottie (Saffron Burrows), or Love’s mom, will do her best to be there for her daughter and any future grandchildren.
So much so that Season 3 will see actress Saffron Burrows as a series regular. Also, Ellie (Jenna Ortega) is still around. Despite the fact that she lives far away, Joe continues to fund her. After all, in Season 2’s sad aftermath, he felt sorry for her sister. Sera Gamble, the show’s co-creator and showrunner, has hinted that Love’s buddies from season 2 may return for season 3.
Expected plotline for You Season 3?
The storyline for the third season depicts Joe and love as newlyweds who are expecting their first child. It’ll demonstrate how much they raised him and care about him. The child’s name was revealed to be Henry in the teaser. The new season of the program reveals how he has reverted to his former habits and has become fond of Natalie, the girl next door. It’s possible that this time around, we’ll get to see Love’s preoccupation with having a happy family and her determination to keep everyone out of her way, even if it meant her own husband, Joe, getting in the way.
Here are some highlights from the first two seasons in case you forgot: When Joe isn’t fixated on Guinevere Beck, he’s making sure no one gets in his way. His incarceration is abruptly ended, though, and he finds himself in a different area. Nothing has changed by the time he meets Love Quinn. This time, though, the obsession is more intense, and he is prepared with escape methods.
