The Season 11 of RuPaul Drag Race saw Yvie Curiously taking the beautiful crown after an epic lip-syncs battle against Brooke Lynn Hytes. But some viewers hoped to see a host Canadian Drag Race win because according to Yvie, she won three big challenges.
What we know and you should know?
Specifically, Yvie spoke to Digital Spy exclusively about the backlash: “I didn’t want to win, but if I won, I know how many people will be upset by the show, the kind of drag I do, my attitude. I don’t want to win. So I could handle it when it happened, so I knew it was the hardest thing for me as a Ru Person, especially last year, my reign.
She said that she believes she is at the same stage as the other winners and then she begins to be on her nerves, as her drag is a case of splitting the hopes into little pieces as they’re not even there. She doesn’t have to experiment or do something that she likes genuinely to care about whether she has won or not.
Yvie is enjoying a spooky season by running a short selection of Culture Travel pumpkin carving masterclasses. In a virtual class, fans will enter Yvie to practice some Halloween skills. She said she wanted to be a member that welcomes people to still get the fun and feel of the Halloween atmosphere and nothing is like a pumpkin carving party.
Although we are still so far away in the civilization this year, she thought partnering with the Culture Trip was a good idea for giving everyone an exposure, a good mood, maybe wearing something Halloween, and enjoying a fun holiday.
Classes take place at 10:00 UK time on Wednesday 14 & 28 October.
