Ed Asner, a former co-star of Zooey Deschanel’s, died last week, and Zooey Deschanel has paid her tribute to him., According to reports, Asner died on August 29 at his Los Angeles home, surrounded by his family. Mr Smith was ninety-one years old.
A couple of days later, Deschanel posted a photo of Asner dressed as Santa Claus in Elf, the Will Ferrell-directed holiday flick they starred in together.
Next to a promotional photo of her beloved Santa Claus, she wrote, “Rest In Peace, my favourite Santa Claus. We will miss you terribly.”
“He is a legend,” said one fan, while another typed: “I’ve been watching him since I was a youngster, staying up late watching Mary Tyler Moore reruns. A great loss.”
In a tweet, Asner’s closest friends and family informed followers that he had passed away: “This morning, our beloved patriarch passed away gently, and we regret to inform you of his demise. We can’t put into words how sad we are feeling. It’s time to call it a night with a kiss on your head- Goodnight, Dad. We love you.”
Deschanel isn’t the only one to pay tribute to Asner on social media. William Zabka, who plays Cobra Kai on television, commented on Twitter: “This news has left me speechless. He is a legend. It’s a pleasure to know such a beautiful person and a dear friend. He taught me so much. My heartfelt sympathies to the Asner family on the loss of their beloved father.”
As Ralph Macchio put it, he was “very saddened by the news ” “Iconic in the realm of acting. This artist’s body of work is a source of endless admiration. Thanks to Ed, I communicated with him for a few minutes during the Cobra Kai series. It’s a real #RIPEdAsner.”
It is extremely sad news for every one of his fans and family members who admired his beautiful soul and great work on camera. We will miss him a lot and will pray that his soul rests in peace.
